Capitalism for the People

There is no need to favor the rich because the engine of capitalism, fractional reserve banking, can create abundant financial capital from the savings of the middle class (unless the rich take all the wealth). If you are not familiar with how fractional reserve banking works, you will be shocked. If you are a voter, you need to know.

Labor produces goods and services. Labor also produces capital goods like tools and production facilities. Financial capital is used to organize the process. Because financial capital is easy to create and widely available, we do not need tax laws that favor the rich and large corporations..

More than anything, we need competition to make capitalism work.

Five Types of Capital

Capital can be any resource used to make goods and provide services. Financial capital is simply money used in the effort to produce goods and provide services.

Of the five major types of capital three, Manufactured, Human, and Social, are created by human work. Natural capital comes from the Earth. Financial capital is accumulated by a combination of savings, investment, persistence, and patience.

1. Financial Capital - The money companies use to pay for expenses and investments. These funds come from equity, loans and bonds, profits, and existing wealth.
2. Natural Capital - Land, water, topsoil, minerals, and other natural resources.
3. Manufactured Capital - Buildings, machinery, tools and technology, including transportation, communication and energy systems.
4. Human Capital - Knowledge, education, training, experience, creativity, and physical abilities.
5. Social Capital - A person's or an organization's relationships and social networks. Social capital enables people and companies to find information, resources, innovations, opportunities, and many types of partnerships.

Working for the People

Capitalism can work for the people. Indeed, capitalism works best when working people have money to spend. In a fair economy, we work for each other. In our current economy, we work for the rich.

To make capitalism work for us, we need to change the rules of the game to favor working Americans and small businesses. Tax law, antitrust law, and prudent economic policies are the keys.

Tax Cuts?

Tax cuts for the rich create a modest stimulation to the economy by increasing the demand for luxury goods. They also increase the deficit, which increases inflation and the amount of tax dollars needed to service the debt.

Tax cuts for the rest of us put money in our pockets. This increases demand for the goods and services we want. We spend the money quicker for a quicker economic stimulus. The long-term costs of inflation and debt service take all the fun out of the process.

What we truly need is stability in an economic system designed to provide goods and services to all Americans, not just the rich.

What's in a Name?

Call it capitalism, democratic socialism, or whatever; we have a market economy with a mix of private and government organizations producing goods and providing services. It's all about who makes the rules.

Most politicians accept campaign assistance from the rich and large corporations that contribute to SuperPacs. They do this because it has proven to be a winning formula.

Our only hope is to vote for politicians who do not accept assistance from the rich and the SuperPACs. We must prove that accepting elite money is a losing formula.

We need economic reforms including Tax Reform, NOPWSIcare, and a new Graduated Corporate Income Tax designed to increase competition and deter monopolies.

Represent Us

The billionaires, the media outlets they own, and the lobbyists they hire work hard to keep us divided. The Voters' Army is here to fight back. To enact and preserve policies that benefit workers and small businesses, we need to improve our political system.

Campaign Finance Reform

The Montana Plan will eliminate the power that corporations have to make political campaign expenditures. Hawaii already has such a law on the books; the people of Montana will vote this fall. This will make Citizens United irrelevant state by state.

Nationally, we can eliminate Citizens United with a constitutional amendment.

Multi Party Election Reform

Traditional "Choose 1" plurality voting has a spoiler problem in every election with three or more candidates. Also, you can only rank one candidate as better than the other candidate. These problems lock in two party rule.

This allows the donor class and the Billionaire Coalition to rule with ease. Voters and politicians need more parties to choose from.

BTR-Score & Round Robin Voting

BTR-Score voting and Round Robin voting methods are the best voting methods for single winner elections. You can express your opinion about each candidate. They are fair to all candidates and superior to both "Choose 1" plurality voting and Ranked Choice Voting (RCV).

Ranked Choice voting lets you rank all candidates; however, it is not reliable enough for American elections.

Neutral Open Primaries

Traditional primary elections in most states are limited to major parties. We propose Neutral Open Primary Elections to make the primaries fair to all candidates and parties.

Proportional Representation

Republicans in blue states, Democrats in red states, and third party members everywhere often feel that their votes do not count. They feel that way because their votes do not count.

A party that wins 40% of the vote should win 40% of the seats. With Proportional Representation your vote always counts because it helps your party win seats.

Make our Political System Work for Us

Our politicians did not grow up dreaming about working for the rich. They would rather work for us. We need to elect the candidates who forgo the big campaign contributions.
