China has established a surveillance state, and the United States is already on the same path. Automated license plate readers, drones, predictive policing, and real-time social media monitoring are already in use in the United States. A system capable of totalitarian control is being built with our tax dollars. I demand that you act now to halt warrantless surveillance and establish strong privacy rights. As a parent, I want my kids to grow up free, not tracked. The Street Level Surveillance Report from the Electronic Frontier Foundation (https://sls.eff.org/) explains how police can access cameras, license plate readers, and even our smart devices without a warrant. The report covers many invasive technologies. They terrify me. If someone can scoop up and analyze our family’s data without our consent, then none of us are safe. Please fight to pass laws requiring warrants and oversight before agencies access private data. Protect families like mine from Big Brother.

I don’t need a PhD to see what’s going on. Cameras on every corner, cops watching our social media, and even doorbells turned into spying tools. We’re building the same system China already has. That’s not freedom. Please do the right thing, pass laws that stop warrantless surveillance, and keep the government out of our private lives. We don’t want America to become 1984.

We can choose a better path. Still, we also have the chance to set an example for the world. By enacting firm limits on biometric surveillance, predictive policing, and warrantless data collection, we can protect liberty while still ensuring safety. Please take the lead. Show that America values freedom.

With CMP, you can send an electronic message to up to 10 officeholders simultaneously! If you are sending your message to more than three politicians, please consider using the “no reply needed” option. We don’t want to overburden our reps.

This is particularly important when sending an “I joined the Voters Army because...” message. We want to be nice! If you want a reply from a special politician, please send a separate message to that officeholder.

Contact My Politician is free to use, but it requires a login. Messages and replies are sent through the CMP system. CMP listings may include major unelected officials in addition to elected officials. CMP listings usually include local officials, but they might not indicate which council member is your council member.
